All the Ball Games Fit to Play
Tennis, basketball, volleyball, softball, soccer, lacrosse, field hockey -- Aloha’s courts and playing grounds see lots of action every day, in programs of instruction as well as pick up matches. Inter-camp tourneys are highlights of the summer. Some campers even sign up for special sports clinics at nearby Dartmouth College at an additional fee. And although we don't need to use a ball, we also love to run around the lake, logging miles throughout the summer, and we do lots of yoga too for strength, flexibility and fun.
Ropes & Rock Climbing
Aloha campers looking for a special kind of personal challenge head over to the high and low ropes courses at our nearby "brother" camp, Lanakila, where they take to the air high up in the pine trees, safely secured and belayed, and ride the "zip wire" 100 feet down from the tree tops to the ground. Or trek over to Nearby Holt's Ledge in Lyme, NH, a prime climb for rock ‘n rovers, with a long mountain view -- way more interesting than those indoor walls made of plastic and steel.
Archery & Riflery
No matter what you’re doing, it’s harder than most people think to get -- and stay -- on target. In archery and riflery, campers learn concentration and stillness, range finding and aim taking – safely, with experts. Good physical skills to acquire, and possibly metaphors for life.
