Rangeley Lakes, Maine, Invitational Canoe Trip

Sunday: Arrive at Hulbert Outdoor Center between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. Dinner and Orientation. Personal equipment review, final packing and trip review. Early to bed for early a.m. departure.

Monday: Rise early for a 7 am departure for the Rangeley Lakes. Arrive early afternoon put in Lake Cupsuptic for short paddle to first campsite, Birch Island. Clinics on paddling, outdoor cooking, tent site selection, camp organization, and minimal impact camping techniques. Time to swim and relax.

Tuesday: Break camp. Route finding/map & compass clinic. Canoe along Lake Mooselookmeguntic to next campsite, Birch Point. Time for swimming, fishing, exploring, or just relaxing. Baking clinic.

Wednesday: Break camp. Day of exploration; relaxation, swimming, fishing, paddling. Star gazing and story telling.

Thursday: Break camp and paddle to Upper Dam for short portage. Canoe to next campsite. Time for journal writing, swimming, fishing, and optional short solo.

Friday: Break camp, paddle to take out point and meet van. Return to Aloha for hot showers, a home cooked meal, and time to debrief our exiting week.

Saturday: Final clean up and departure for home.
