White Water Canoeing
White water canoeing is an exciting opportunity to apply flatwater paddling skills to the moving water environment of the river. Our location in eastern Vermont is central to some great white water. Our trips travel to the White River in Vermont and the Androscoggin River in New Hampshire. Both of these rivers have great water levels during the summer.
Our white water trips are designed to provide an appropriate challenge for both beginners and intermediate skill levels. We guide each camper through a progression of learning water safety, paddling techniques and reading white water rapids. Having a low camper to counselor ration of 3:1 allows for plenty of personalized instruction.
On our white water canoeing trips there is a white water specialist that joins the trip leaders to safely lead this trip. Staff are ACA (American Canoe Association) certified and experienced paddlers who are very capable of assessing both the ability of the group and the nature of the challenge.
Like all of our trips, the white water canoeing is only part of the Voyageur's Experience. Camping, swimming, "Leave No Trace" outdoor ethics, outdoor cooking and time to relax in this beautiful environment come together to complete this exciting adventure.
