Rock Climbing
Rock climbing is a challenging and exciting sport that privides an exhilarating experience for the climber, and also enhances personal growth and decision-making. Our climbing trips travel to some of the best locations in the northeast. Our location in Vermont is centralized and we travel to the Adirondacks (Keene Valley, NY), Rumney (Plymouth, NH), and the White Mountains of New Hampshire (Franconia Notch, Pinkham Notch, White Horse & Cathedral Ledge).
During the trip, campers will learn safety systems, equipment use and care, belay skills, climbing techniques and efficient movement over rock, as well as geology. Small group size (a camper to counselor ration of 3:1) and a flexible schedule allows for travel between a variety of climibing areas, hiking trails and swimming holes.
In addition to the two trip leaders, a staff member with extensive training and experience with climbing instruction will join the group as the "rock specialist." The group will camp at established campsites. Outdoor cooking, swimming, and fun for everyone will be emphasized throughout the trip.
