The low camper-to-counselor (fewer than three to one) ratio at the residential Aloha Camps ensures that children get lots of individual attention. Most counselors and staff members are college undergraduates or graduates, and many have advanced degrees. Schools represented during the summer include, among many others, Middlebury, Smith, Dartmouth, Barnard, Cornell, Princeton, Yale, MIT, Harvard, Kenyon, Colby, Amherst, and Bowdoin. Staff members come from all across the country and from many nations, including South Africa, Ireland, Scotland, Russia, Japan, Holland, Germany, and Australia. Aloha Foundation counselors and staff receive intensive training before Camp opens, and undergo back-ground checks by an independent agency prior to hiring. Most have advanced expertise in their chosen activity or field.
Hulbert Voyageurs staff are caring and dedicated individuals who have extensive outdoor skills, as well as group leadership and teaching experience. Safety is of utmost importance during every Hulbert program, and in addition to their hands-on outdoor experience, education, and extensive preparation, our staff are certified as Wilderness First Responders or Emergency Medical Technicians, and instructors in their particular field.
The Hulbert Outdoor Center School Program Staff brings a wide variety of experience and educational background to the program. The staff lives on campus during the fall and spring sessions. Most are college-age or recent college graduates. All are carefully trained in Success Counseling, first aid, and other emergency procedures, and all are energetic and fun!
Our Family Camp staff is comprised of dedicated, committed people with a passion for fun and adventure.
