Adirondack Expedition
Travel throughout the Adirondack Park by canoe and foot for two weeks. This expedition will be a mix of paddling and hiking. We will travel along the newly dedicated Northern Forest Canoe Trail for seven days. We'll trade our canoes for our boots to hike some of the most amazing trails of the Adirondacks. Tuition: $1,775
Backpack & Whitewater Kayak
Backpack & Whitewater Kayak will take place entirely in the North Woods of Maine. We will backpack a beautiful section of the Appalachian Trail which contains old growth forests, alpine ridges and breath-taking waterfalls. The group will hike 4-8 miles daily over moderate terrain. The second leg of this journey will take place along the West Branch of the Penobscot River. This section of river provides a wonderful location for novice paddlers while also offering safe and appropriate challenges for those looking to test their improving paddling skills. With Mt. Katahdin perched majestically in the distance, this is an amazing location to spend a week kayaking. Tuition $1,845
Climbing Rocks! I

Rock climbing is a challenging and exciting sport that provides an exhilarating experience for the climber, and also enhances personal growth. Throughout the adventures, campers will learn safety systems, appropriate equipment use, belay skills, climbing techniques and movement over rock. A flexible schedule allows for travel between a variety of climbing areas, hiking trails, and swimming holes. Group camping will be done at established sites. Outdoor cooking, baking, and fun for everyone will be emphasized throughout the trip.Tuition $995
Climbing Rocks! II
Rock climbing II builds upon the foundations learned on Rock Climbing I. No previous experience is required. Throughout this trip, campers will be empowered with more responsibity as they learn safety systems, appropriate equipment use, belay skills, and climbing techniques. Choosing climbing routes and setting up anchors are two examples of added camper responsibility, along with greater involvement in the daily climbing schedule. A flexible schedule allows for travel between a variety of climbing areas, hiking trails, and swimming holes. Group camping will be done at established sites. Outdoor cooking, baking, and fun for everyone will be emphasized throughout the trip.

Horizons Apprentice Program
The Horizons Apprentice Program is a joint program between Horizons Day Camp and Voyageurs lasting three weeks. The first week of the program is an out-of-camp expdition. The Apprentices will live in community while traveling from campsite to campsite. During the last two weeks, the Apprentices join the ranks of Horizons staff where they will assist with departments or camper groups while experiencing all that the Horizons community has to offer. The Lakeside Expedition, exclusively for Lanakila graduates, will journey to Maine and New Hampshire for the ultimate adventure: sea kayaking, rock climbing and backpacking. The trip begins on Wednesday, June 25th(Lanakila Opening Day) and will end on Saturday, July 12th. During the 18 day trip, you will become proficient sea kayakers while exploring and navigating amongst the many unique islands along the coast of Maine. We will backpack an amazing section of the Appalachian Trail and climb some of the famous granite cliffs in the White Mountain National Forest of New Hampshire. Everyone will have the opportunity to lead the group, as leader of the day, and to help share in the leadership tasks involved during the trip. There will be an emphasis on teambuilding, wilderness living skills, natural history and ecology. Decision-making, cooking, navigating, etc. will be shared amongst the group. Included is a tentative itinerary for the trip. Tuition $2,750
Rangeley Lakes Adventure
The Rangeley Lakes Region of western Maine provides the perfect setting for this wilderness canoe and backpacking trip. The adventure begins with time to get to know the group, the equipment, and the skills needed to enjoy this great trip. Once on the lakes, the group will explore remote coves and islands, while refining canoeing skills and traveling from site to site. These wild and scenic lakes are home to populations of moose, loon, deer, osprey, and eagles. Campers will enjoy the sense of a wild environment through a safe and comfortable experience. We'll leave our canoes behind and hit the the trails hiking Saddleback and the surrounding mountains. Sweeping views of the Rangeley lakes and our paddling path will allow us to retrace our journey. Developing new wilderness camping and canoeing skills, including outdoor cooking and baking, complete this wilderness adventure in northwestern Maine.

Upper Valley Adventure (formerly Connecticut River Canoe and Rock Climbing)
This introductory canoe and rock climbing trip rolls two adventures into a single Voyageurs week. Half of the week is spent paddling down a local section of the beautiful Connecticut River, stopping at campsites developed by the Upper Valley Land Trust along the way. During the second half of the trip, the campers move off the water and prepare for two days of rock climbing at a nearby cliff. A relaxed trip schedule throughout allows for plenty of time to swim, explore, make new friends, and have lots of fun. Tuition $945
Vermont Adventure I

Enjoy an introductory sampling of outdoor adventures without the need to change campsites each day! This residential base camp experience is filled with day trips that include canoeing, hiking, ropes course, and rock climbing. The group will return to base camp every afternoon, prepare authentic camping meals over an open fire and camp stove at our outdoor cook site, participate in evening activities, and sleep in tents. Time to swim, play, relax, make new friends, learn new skills, and camp out for a week! What fun! Tuition $945
Vermont Adventure II
This trip is designed for individuals interested in an 11-day adventure that combines rock climbing, canoeing and backpacking in Vermont. Four days of this adventure are spent backpacking and camping in some of Vermont's most beautiful areas, followed by a few days of canoeing on a pristine body of water. The final days of this trip is spent learning the fundamentals of rock climbing. Have fun, make new friends, hike, canoe, and climb! Learn many of the little tricks of living and cooking in the out-of-doors in Vermont.

Whitewater Canoeing
Whitewater Canoeing offers an opportunity to apply flatwater paddling skills to the moving water of the river. Campers will have personalized instruction, guiding each camper through a progression of learning water safety, reading whitewater rapids, and whitewater canoeing. Campers will paddle tandem canoes and share the adrenaline rush with a partner. Teamwork and communication skils will be critical for the canoe team to navigate the white water effectively. The White River in Vermont and Androscoggin River in New Hampshire are the two locations we will paddle. These beautiful regions of northern New Hampshire, and Vermont are home for populations of moose, loon, deer, osprey, and the occasional bald eagle. Camping, whitewater canoeing, swimming, "leave no trace" ethics, outdoor cooking, and time to relax and enjoy this beautiful area come together to complete this exciting adventure. Tuition $995
