Arts & Music at the Aloha Camps

Camp just wouldn't be Camp without all the wonderful camaraderie and individual expression that the creative arts bring to our communities.

Music

Whether at meals, on a mountain trail, or around a campfire, we are always singing at the Aloha Camps! Because music brings us together with humor and joy, it is an integral element in all of our programs. Even those shy, at first, about trying their voices will soon find themselves joining in with gusto!

Campers and counselors are encouraged to bring their instruments to camp. We have a long history, and music is at the heart of our traditions. Energetic singing in morning assembly, playing an instrument for a super-friendly audience, or gathering together in the evening to harmonize and play guitars are just some of the ways music is a part of a summer at the Aloha Camps.

Drama

Whether it's a chance to play a part in a summer musical or a small, friendly skit; whether we try an elaborate Hawaiian night, complete with fancy costumes we've created ourselves, or a red, white and blue carnival on the 4th of July, the Alohas specialize in home-made fun. Campers who love to perform will find many ways to share their talent, and shyer ones may find themselves relaxing and joining the silliness.

Arts & Crafts

There are many opportunities for campers of all ages to create, learn new skills or build on experience in a particular medium, and have fun in the process. From ceramics to drawing, jewelry making to tie-dye, woodworking and designing sets for a show, or trying basketry, papier mache, stained glass or sculpting – the possibilities are endless and the enthusiasm of the staff is high. Campers love improving their own skills, as well as collaborating with others on larger projects.

Photography

Campers at our resident camps can learn how to use a camera, take great pictures and develop them in our photo labs. A great opportunity to try a different creative activity!
