Meet Hulbert Directors & Staff

The leadership of The Aloha Foundation has roots in camping that are generations-deep. Each member of the team has an abiding connection with Aloha and a profound commitment to providing the best possible experience for all campers and counselors.

Hulbert Outdoor Center Directors

Andy Williams

Hulbert Outdoor Center Director, Andy Williams, has been with The Aloha Foundation since 1987 and has spent the last 32 years as a professional outdoor educator. He studied at the University of Massachusetts and Boston University. An avid lover of winter adventuring and back country travel, Andy is an expert in all things wilderness, including canoeing, skiing, mountain climbing, fishing, staying warm and dry in the out-of-doors, and cooking gourmet meals in the woods. He is a Registered Maine Guide and a Wilderness First Responder, and a member of the Association of Experiential Educators. He and his wife, Deb, have three grown children who have all worked at Hulbert Outdoor Center and have been campers at the Aloha Camps.

Mike Vecchiarelli, Assistant Director of the Hulbert Outdoor Center.  Since his first camp job as an archery instructor and cabin counselor back in 1986, Mike has been devoted to the field of experiential education.  He has held multiple positions from maintenance director, adventure programs specialist, cook, medic, teacher, director, and more.  Designing his own degree at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, to reflect the variety of disciplines covered in a residential program, he has been able to apply this learning to each position.  He considers his work a “lifestyle” rather than a job since it often provides him professional opportunities to do the things he loves like white-water kayaking, rock climbing, hiking, x-country skiing, and mountain biking.

Becky Proulx Becky Proulx has been a member of the Hulbert staff since 1995 and became the Director of School Programs in 2002. Becky has the buoyant energy of someone who spends her days in the company of highly creative elementary and middle school students. She is a graduate of Colby College and is an expert in New Games. She is also an avid bird watcher, outdoorswoman, and reader of poetry, which she shares with everyone at The Aloha Foundation on a regular basis.

After living all around the country, Mark and his wife, Margaret, have settled in the Upper Valley where they plan to raise their family. They have a two year-old son, Noah, and two labrador retrievers, Bailey and Kaia.
