The Hulbert Outdoor Center's School Program provides high-quality educational experiences for children from public and private schools. Each year, our program serves more than 2,000 children representing more than 60 Team Buildingschools in one- to five-day residential and day programs focusing on teambuilding, personal challenge, natural history, and outdoor skills development. We also offer week-long programs for children who Homeschool in March, May and October.

When you schedule a program, we work with you to customize activities and program options based on your goals and in accordance with the needs of your students and your school.

Whatever program options you choose, we will strive to design an experience that is meaningful and memorable for your students.

School Program Staff

The Hulbert Outdoor Center's School Program Instructor Staff are dedicated, caring, professional adults.  All have a college-level education and experience working with children.  Many have additional experience and professional training in education, outdoor skills, and other relevant areas.  All Hulbert staff members strive to facilitate a positive and enriching learning environment.

A Sampling of Program Options

School Programs Teambuilding: Teambuilding activities form the foundation of most of our school programs. Under careful guidance from our staff, students use simple props, low ropes elements and lots of imagination to develop and practice communication, leadership, trust, safety, responsibility, decision-making and problem-solving skills.

High Ropes Course: Offers thrilling personal challenge in a supportive, safe community setting under professional supervision. Designed for participants with various degrees of ability, the High Ropes Course offers opportunities for success at all levels.

All Day Mountain Hike: A day hike in the beautiful White Mountains of New Hampshire or the Green Mountains of Vermont provides an opportunity for students to set goals, be physically active together, practice group skills learned in teambuilding activities, and learn the basics of trail hiking, while exploring the natural world.

Outdoor Skills: Hulbert staff teaches wilderness travel skills, including map reading and orienteering, outdoor cooking and baking, and the basics of living comfortably in all kinds of weather.

Evening Programs: A fun and unusual opportunity for students to interact together through Night Journeys, New Games, traditional square dances, large-group teambuilding activities, Talent Show, and the very popular evening Campfire.
